Ruben A. Pascua's profile

Ruben Anaya Pascua is one of the many faithful ministers of the Filipino Assemblies of the Firstborn, Inc. He was born in Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur on the 23rd of August 1962. The third of the six (6) brood of the late Rev. Aser A. Pascua - another FAFB faithful minister who has gone to be with the Lord last April 24, 2008 - and Mrs. Wilhelmina Anaya Pascua, also an FAFB minister. He spent most of his childhood in his hometown. After graduating from Elementary in 1974, it was then his parents accepted a pastorate work in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. They stayed in Ilocos Norte for almost two decades. During their residence there, Ruben became an active Youth in the church. He even participated in fellowships and contests for youths which are being held every year. He was a champion in Bible Survey Contest in 1975 during the Messengers of the Cross (MC) National Fellowship held in Balloc, San Clemente, Tarlac. Likewise in the MC National Fellowship held in 1979 in Callitang, Sta. Maria, Pangasinan, he was the champion in Solo Guitar (Instrumental).
He entered Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Laoag in 1978 and took up his Bachelor of Arts in English. When Arts and Sciences was relocated to MMSU Batac Campus the following year, he enrolled at the Divine Word College of Laoag to continue pursuing his college education of the same course. He majored in English and Economics. He graduated in 1984. After graduation he was quickly hired by one of the prestigious life plan companies then, PAZ LIFE PLAN, as the area manager in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
God's call was so strong for him to enter Bible college. So after just four months of working with PLF he tendered his resignation from his job. The next school year he set up for Bible college. He attended the Messengers of the Cross Bible College in 1985. He went there without an sponsor, but he trusted God to meet his needs. It was then during that year that one of the members of the teaching force of MCBC, Mdm. Chona S. Ines, has to take residence in Balanga City, Bataan together with her husband. She was then teaching English subjects. Since Ruben was an English major, the school offered to him the position which is vacated by Mdm. Ines and he immediately grab the oppurutnity. He was a student teacher from 1985-1987. During his stay at the Bible College he was attracted and fell in love with a very beautiful lass from Victoria, Tarlac, the former Zenaida de la Cruz, who is has become his better half.
Zenaida enetered the bible college ahead of him for one year. After graduation in 1987, Zen , as she is fondly called, held a pastorate work in Dadaor, Bangui, Ilocos Norte for one year. While Zen was in Bangui, Ruben was finishing his Standard Ministry course at MCBC at the same time pastoring the church in San Frascisco, Sudipen, La Union. After a year of pastoring, Zen returned to MCBC to pursue her degree in B.Th. together with Ruben but they only finished one semester in 1988. Ruben and Zenaida got married on May 18, 1989. They returned to Bible college to finish their B.Th in the opening of school year 1989-1990. They accepted a pastorate work at Juan Cartas, Caba, La Union for a span of two years (1990-1992). While Ruben and Zen were pastoring in Caba, Ruben also started his teaching stint at the Messengers of the Cross Bible College. They finally resigned from their pastorate in Juan Cartas in 1992 and went to MCBC to start another kind of ministry. Ruben teaching while Zen was responsible for the chaplaincy of the school. Ruben was the Dean of Student Affairs (DSA) from 1994-19998 and then the Academic Dean in 1998-2004 and again the DSA in 2004-2008.
Ruben is now pastoring one of the oldest FAFB churches in LaUnion, The Castro Full Gospel Church in Castro, Sudipen, La Union at the same time a member of the Faculty and staff of MCBC.
Rev. Ruben Pascua is residing at the college campus together with his wife, Zen, an instructor at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) in Agoo, La Union, at the same time the interim Guidance Couselor of MCBC, and his four children, Zordell Rae, Zenette Rube, Zidonette Ritchel and Zuriel Reu.
